Pickleball
Explore the excitement of pickleball with us, where connecting, laughing, and forging new friendships await you on the court. It’s just one of the many vibrant activities CNC has in store for its members!
Book Clubs
Interested in reading and discussing a variety of books in a friendly social group? Then one of our three Book Clubs will be right for you. We have book clubs in various parts of the city. The discussions will always be lively and wide-ranging. The Clubs meet monthly at a members’ home.
Lunch Group
This group offers the opportunity to try new restaurants and revisit old favorites in Calgary. Please join us for great conversations, food, fun, and friendship at these gatherings. We are looking forward to seeing you!
Charitable Work
These groups support local Calgary charitable organizations and some international charity as well. Join one of our two charity groups and work side by side with these amazing and dedicated ladies.
Mountain Activities
Let’s head to the mountains for some great exercise in a beautiful setting. Whether it’s hiking in the warmer months or snowshoeing & cross-country skiing in the winter. Join in for this full day of exciting fun & activity. The groups will carpool so another great opportunity to meet new friends.
Coffee Groups
This group exists for women looking to get together for a good coffee and great conversation. Four groups are located around the city.
Movie & Theatre
Like to go to the movies or theatre but don’t like to go by yourself? Calgary Newcomers Club has 3 movie groups. Then meet after to discuss the show.
Join one of two activity groups that will get you out of the house and doing things you normally might not do. Join us and find out what the groups will be doing next.
On Our Own
This group is for single, widowed or divorced women. It is a great place to meet others who share your interests. We get together for activities like Sunday brunch, lunch, dinner, travel, special events or activities.
Whatsapp Group
This group helps you stay in touch with Cell Phone Chat Groups using WhatsApp Messenger for members in each quadrant of Calgary.
Line Dancing
The class is fun, engaging, and fast-moving. Each week you will learn a new dance or two and review and practice dances from the previous weeks. The level of dance is at the beginner/high beginner level and though some experience in a form of dancing is an advantage we openly welcome ladies to come and join us.
Fun & Games
There’s something for every level of player & everyone is welcome to join in on the fun. Whether you enjoy Bunko, Fun Bid Euchre, Couples Bid Euchre, MAHJONGG or Puzzles it’s all here with the Newcomers Club. If you don’t know how to play, we will teach you.
Walking Groups
Participants enjoy friendship and fun, while out for a walk through parks, neighborhoods or trails within the city. The walk is followed by coffee at a cafe or members home. Each walk is planned and hosted by a member. Walks are about 90 minutes long and may cover some hills. This activity is for all fitness level members.
Golf
This fun group of ladies plays 18 holes of golf on Thursday morning from May to September. The executive course is located in the south end of Calgary. There is a minimal registration fee to cover the cost of the coffee party, weekly prizes and wind up prizes. Every level of golfer is welcome.
Our Members Get Involved
Activities can’t run themselves and our members do a great job of not only managing an activity they like, but also in creating new ones for others to enjoy.

Women are eligible to join the Calgary Newcomers’ Club (CNC) if they are new to the city or have experienced a significant life change such as retirement, divorce or death of a spouse within the past 3 years.
